Aug 22 2008

It has not been a pleasant summer break. So many things planned, but none of it ever happened. I have one more week to enjoy till Fall semester starts but I already lost hope. Not gonna bother thinking about planning anything anymore. Mungkin betul la kata orang tua, kalau dah takde rezeki, takde la. Nak buat camna kan. So, about travelling, cased is closed.

Nadiah is back in town, that's good news! I've been spending most of my weekdays with her. The main reason for going out would be that I don't want to get stuck in my house all day long. It has already been a dull summer for me. So having something to look forward to every other day makes me feel better. I told her about the thing that bugs me the most right now and it seemed like she understood. Told Adik also and glad to get it out my chest.

The outing was kinda nice. Catching up with our life stories, tried new food, went to do something productive such as going to the gym :) Speaking of food, we went to have a dinner at a new Malaysian restaurant near Union Square a few days ago. The place was fancy and the food taste like hotel food. It was decent enough but not as authentic as the one in Chinatown. With the prices being above $10 for a meal, it does feel like your eating at a hotel. But I like the deco of that place, very warm and intimate. Don't think I'll ever be going to that place again. I rather spend my $10 bucks at Sanur or Nyonya. Can get rojak, laksa, and Milo ais under 10 bucks. The next day, Nadiah and I went to Max Brenner for 'tea'. I was thinking of having a warm-moist-gooey-chocolate cake but Nadiah wanted to try something fancier. So we ordered Triple Chocolate fondue. It was sooo good! The whole 'fondue set' consist of dark and milk chocolate, toffee, cut bananas, strawberries, cakes, marshmallow and a small burner (or something like that). The liquids was placed on top of containers that has tea candles beneath them. Fancy! We were so jakun we didn't know exactly how to properly eat it because of this burner thingy. Anyhow, since that place is full with tourists, we had to make ourselves look like we know how to work this thing. At first, I thought you had to put the chocolates on top of the burner to warm it, but it didn't look quite right. Dahla there's this 2 Chinese girls next to our table were marveling at our fondue (They had some waffles or something). So, kena la mantain kan. But in the end, Nadiah realized that maybe the burner is used to burn the marshmallow. I was like, "Brilliant!" It seemed that we had it right because the waiter never came to our table to explain to us how to use it. Hahaha! That was fun :)

Oh, I planned to work next semester. I just have this urge of wanting to meet new people and to be more independent. Gotta do some paperwork next week. It'll be nice of I can get a job within my department but at the same time I feel shy to work at a place where all my classmates can see me. Let's just see what will happen.

That's it for now. I'm too lazy to think of something else to write. Please excuse my grammar as well cuz I'm too lazy to correct them.
