May updates!

I know it's already June but I still want to update you guys on what had happened in May. Cuz it's more interesting than June heh.

It all started with my Sarawak work trip (which I've mentioned in the previous post). I spent 7 days away from home. I was already homesick by the 3rd day. We spent 3 days in Kuching. Then took a flight to Sibu. From there, we had to endure a 2-hour boat ride to Mukah. Mind you, the boat ride is nothing like ferry Kuala Kedah-Langkawi. The max amount of passengers should be only 10, but they managed to stuff about 30 people plus some heavy luggage on its roof. It was scary, and to top it off, somebody puked right in front of me. Not fun. So, we spent 3 days in Mukah before heading back to KL.

2 weeks after that, I went for a family vacay in Sabah. Spent 3 days in Karambunai first, then 3 more days in KK, with one day traveling all the way to Kundasang and Poring. Our stay in Karambunai was superb, had a huge free dinner sponsored by my dad's old friend. That was the first time I ever tasted lobster! But as we headed to KK, some of us started to get sick one after another. It started with Mr. D, then my brother, and then it was me! We all believed that it was because of the seafood. By the time we headed to Kundasang, I was totally out. Definitely not a pleasant trip for me that day. Bummer.

After that trip, Mr. D and needed to start rehearsing for our niece's wedding. We had to call out some friends of friends and make up a band. Since these people are amateurs, we had to spent a lot of time rehearsing. I was biting my nails at the time thinking we will never sound great if the level of performance was not even close to decent, at least for me. But Mr. D was very kind and full of hope, he trained the bassist and the drummer to play a lot better. Luckily, we managed to pull through and had a wonderful night at the wedding. A lot of guests gave positive comments to us. But there were also people who got frustrated because we could not and would not cater to their song requests. Most of them are the uncles and aunties. But, we couldn't care less. We gotta do what we gotta do. As long as the bride and groom are happy with our song choices, we're cool.

The day after the wedding, we had a family gathering at Shangri-La Hotel Putrajaya. It was such a lovely event. Although most of us are tired but we had a lot of fun! Each family is color-coded and my family picked white! Food was superb but I was too busy organizing the event I could not enjoy them so much. Such a waste. We spent the whole day there and by the time we reached home I was totally fried.

There goes my May. Hectic, tiring, stressful but it was worth it! Now June is totally going to be my chill-out month as July will be a different story.
