Lesson Learned

Orange! Isn't it refreshing?

I just got back from the island of Bali so the new template design is a tribute for it ;) Ala-ala batik kan? (Poyo).

Bali was awesome! Mr D and I spent 5 days over there for our honeymoon. We stayed in Aston Bali in Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua. So over the 5 days we only managed to go to Ubud (the SoHo of Bali), Kintamani (volcano area), Jimbaran (famous for seafood) and Kuta (jam-packed shopping area). It's so amazing for such a small island there are actually so many things to see! I'm definitely going back to Ubud in the future, but Mr D wants to surf so maybe we'll try out Legian too.

All in all, we love Bali. Definitely miss the lazy day at the beach, although I'm the only lady wearing 'oh-so-sopan' swimming suit. Yang lain semua pakai 2-piece je. Yang one-piece pun ada hehe.

But the thing that I would wanna erase from my memory would be the fact that we missed our flight back to KL. Flight pukul 6am tapi confident je pukul 6pm. We actually spent the whole day at the airport not knowing that we've already missed the flight. So dumb right? So we had to wait for the next flight out and that one was delayed for an hour. We had no cash with us nak bayar airport tax segala and they don't accept credit card payment. Dumb, really.

When we finally reached LCCT airport there's another drama pulak. We wanted to get a cab to Bandar Enstek (about 1-2 km from the airport) but they charge for the price macam nak ke Shah Alam. I personally did not want to spend RM68 for a 5-minute ride to Enstek, so we walked all the way to Tune Hotel konon nak flag down a cab. It was way past midnight so there was no cab and we had to call abah and beg him to pick us up at Tune Hotel. Btw, abah couldn't drive at night due to his bad vision. Kesian abah had to do that for us. At last we reached Subang at 2am. We couldn't spend the night at ibu's place because there were no clean clothes to wear.

The whole experience has definitely taught us some lessons:

1. Always (always) bring more than what you've budgeted. You'll definitely need extra cash on airport tax, impromptu dinner by the beach, taxi rides, tips, etc.

2. Be patient at all times with everyone.

3. Don't plan too much, just go with the flow.

4. Bring extra clothes if you're going for a beach vacation.

I definitely recommend Bali to everyone. There will definitely be a second visit in the future.

Cheers!

I'm going to Bali in May! It was unplanned, I was basically trying out during the AirAsia RM1 promotion, clicking randomly, then the browser hung on me and I thought that was it. Then I received an email saying my booking went through so it was sort of a forced vacation. Not that I'm complaining.

Being married is awesome! You have that special someone to harass with dumb questions for the rest of your life! "Honey, what do you call donuts with no holes?"
